As expected, Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suhwas fined but not suspended for his illegal block on Minnesota Vikings center John Sullivan. The penalty was set at $100,000, but it’s something that Suh has already said he plans on appealing, according to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com.While there was no suspension, Hanzus notes that the fine handed down was the largest for an on-field violation in NFL history. This certainly has to do with Suh’s track record, but even the record-breaking total isn’t enough for some who feel the lineman should have been suspended for his conduct.Suh went low on Sullivan during an interception return, appearing to aim for the center’s knees. Luckily, Sullivan, who underwent microfracture knee surgery over the offseason, avoided serious injury, and Suh denied that he was trying to hurt his competitor.Considering they’ve already set a precedent with the record-breaking fine, the next time Suh does something questionable it would seem as though he’s all but guaranteed to receive a ban for his actions.Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt Looking for fantasy football advice?

Ndamukong Suh playing stupid, not dirty

Ndamukong Suh has been accused of being a dirty player throughout his career, but frankly, that’s not the proper designation. Suh is a reckless player; he just doesn’t know how to play smart football that doesn’t ultimately set his own team back. Suh’s most recent illegal, and highly controversial play, came on a low block after the Lions had intercepted a pass. The block...

Another game, another bad decision by Ndamukong Suh of the Detroit Lions. Suh added to his list of boneheaded plays Sunday by purposely blocking Vikings lineman John Sullivan low. Canty on Suh penalty: “Offensive linemen do it to defensive linemen all the time”

It sounds like Giants DL is feeling some of Ndamukong Suh’s frustration. He isn’t defending Suh but there is definitely some contempt being held against the legality of low blocks for offensive players. “I think it was dirty,” Canty said. “I have to say this though: I understand his frustration because offensive linemen do it to defensive linemen all the time.
