The Detroit Lions have placed defensive tackle Nick Fairley on injured reserve and signed Ogemdi Nwagbuo to fill the open roster spot, Justin Rogers of Mlive reports. Fairley has been unable to practice since suffering a shoulder injury late in the game against the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 9. The injury occurred when Fairley was driven to the ground from behind by Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith while trying to trying to tackle running back Alex Green. Ogemdi Nwagbuo is a four-year veteran who has played for the San Diego Chargers and Carolina Panthers. He's appeared in 35 games, starting seven, and has recorded 44 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his career. Source: The Redzone
