Detroit Lions fans can exhale now knowing that Matthew Stafford's main man Calvin Johnson has agreed to a seven-year extension through 2019. Details of the deal are not immediately known according to MLive.com, but it's believed that he will rightfully be made the highest paid wide receiver in the NFL.

Arizona Cardinals' wideout Larry Fitzgerald is currently the highest paid at $16 million annually and $50 million guaranteed over the life of his eight-year $120 million deal that he signed in August of last year.

Re-signing Calvin was the biggest motivation for the Lions' brass this offseason and will now allow them to focus on re-signing the likes of defensive end Cliff Avril and linebacker Stephen Tulloch amongst other free agents. Avril recently was given the franchise tag by the team.

Last season, Johnson emerged as the NFL's best receiver with 96 receptions for 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns during the regular season and 12 catches for 211 yards in two touchdowns in the Lions' lone playoff game.
