The Detroit Lions added depth to their banged-up offense Monday, signing running back Kevin Smith and offensive guard Leonard Davis.Smith spent parts of three seasons with the Lions but wasn't retained for the 2011 season. The oft-injured 24-year-old appeared in six games last season, earning 33 carries for 125 yards.He's expected to slot in as the third running back behind Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams. Regular starter Jahvid Best is dealing with concussion symptoms and remains out indefinitely.Davis comes to the Lions after being cut loose by the Dallas Cowboys in July. He started every game for the team the previous four years.
