Miami Dolphins left tackle Jake Long is hurt again. Long left practice Monday after injuring his right knee during an 11-on-11 drill. He sat in a cart while being examined, then walked to the locker room. Coach Joe Philbin declined to discuss the severity of the injury with reporters. Back trouble slowed Long last season, and he went on injured reserve before the final game because of a torn right biceps. He nonetheless was chosen a Pro Bowl starter for the third consecutive year. Long has battled knee trouble in the past and wore a brace on his right knee Monday. Rookie Jonathan Martin, who protected Andrew Luck at Stanford, moved from right tackle to the left side to fill in for Long.

What’s next for the Dolphins after trading Vontae Davis?

The Miami Dolphins have continued to stress, since the end of the 2011 season that they are not rebuilding.  However, many of their actions would suggest otherwise.  On Sunday, the Dolphins traded a 1st round pick from just 3 years ago, for a 2nd rounder and a conditional 6th rounder.  Trading Vontae Davis, the 2nd [...]

Dolphins cut Hard Knocks underdog Les Brown and 8 others

The Miami Dolphins need to trim their roster to 75 players by 4pm Monday. Following the Dolphins 23-6 loss to the Falcons, they wasted little time in starting the process of getting from 88 players down to the league mandated number of 75.  On Saturday, the Dolphins released the following players:  Chas Alecxih (DT), Les Brown [...]

What's should the Dolphins next move be?

Dolphin’s nation it’s time to a big deep breath,  yesterday the Dolphins finally had luck on their side as it appears Jake Long’s ankle injury is only a minor tweak and he should even be ready to go for the opener although that has yet to be fully confirmed. The offensive line would have been quite the mess with rookie Jonathan Martin moving to left tackle in practice as...

Dolphins cut Pruitt; Dansby, Hartline and Burnett return to practice

The Miami Dolphins needed to cut one final player in advance of the 4pm deadline on Monday to get their roster to 75 players.  Julius Pruitt, listed on the Dolphins depth chart as a 2nd team wide receiver, didn’t expect to be that cut.  It was thought that Pruitt would be a virtual lock to [...]

Next to Bess, Dolphins still searching for help

DAVIE, Fla. Youd think Clyde Gates would be concerned. The Dolphins have one of the worst receiving corps in the NFL, and Gates isnt even a lock to make the team. But the second-year man doesnt seem too worried. They can say what they want to say, Gates said about critics maligning Miamis ball catchers. They doubted Jesus, didnt they? Perhaps divine intervention will be needed...

Dolphins hoping Bush's 2011 was no fluke

DAVIE, Fla. Each year in his NFL career, there were questions surrounding Reggie Bush. Could he live up to being the No. 2 pick in the 2006 draft? Could he be an every-down back? Could he stay healthy? Now, as Bush prepares to enter his seventh season, critics are having a harder time finding fault with the Dolphins running back. Thats what happens after a 1,086-yard rushing season...

Dansby's latest boast is Hall of Fame prediction

DAVIE, Fla. Karlos Dansby wears a wristband that reads "Confidence." Not that he ever needs to be reminded. The Miami Dolphins middle linebacker expects one day to end up in the Pro Football Hall of...
