Look: Carson Wentz reps former teams with unique workout gear

On Sunday, Wentz posted workout photos to his Instagram donning gear from every team he's played for, including a Philadelphia Eagles helmet, a gold Washington Commanders practice jersey and blue Indianapolis Colts shorts. 

"Back in the lab... just looks a little different so far this year," Wentz wrote. 

Released by the Commanders on Feb. 27, Wentz remains a quarterback without a home. In 2022, he started seven games for Washington, going 2-5 with 11 touchdowns, nine interceptions and an 80.2 passer rating. Though after roughly 500 snaps, the Commanders had seen enough. 

Entering his eighth season, Wentz has already had a whirlwind of a career. Selected second overall by the Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, Wentz spent five up-and-down seasons in Philly, posting an MVP-caliber year during the Super Bowl-winning 2017 campaign. 

Still, the glory ultimately went rightfully to backup Nick Foles and three years later, Wentz lost his spot to Jalen Hurts before being dealt to the Colts ahead of the 2021 season. 

Then, after an uninspiring year in Indy, Wentz was on the move again, this time to Washington, where things also failed to work out for the former top pick. 

In June, Wentz revealed he'd worked alongside former Super Bowl-winning head coach John Gruden during the offseason to better his game and attract some suitors. While Wentz said he was waiting for the right situation, he's also open to "various roles," meaning he'd be okay with being a backup. 

It's hard to say Wentz has been a bust as a pro, but considering his draft position, it's fair to say his career has been a disappointment. There's always a need for quarterbacks in the league and a team out there will inevitably give Wentz another shot. 

However, three organizations have already passed on Wentz, two after only one season. So, his chances might be running out.
