In anticipation of the Chicago Bears regular season finale with the Detroit Lions, Bears safety Major Wright offered some insight on what it takes to stop Lions QB Matt Stafford, and it’s quite simple and expected from every defense. Pressure. “You put a little pressure on him, you close the pocket on him, and he hesitates,” Wright said Wednesday, via Josh Katzenstein of the Detroit News. “He doesn’t make that perfect throw… He can make any throw on that field, so you have to be aware of putting pressure on him because you put a little pressure on him he kind of folds.” That absolutely worked in their last meeting, so why shouldn’t it work Sunday? The Bears sacked Stafford three times, and hurried him 18 times, according to Pro Football Focus, and that’s what they have planned for this game as well. “You don’t want to sit back and let him pick you apart because he’s a good quarterback, and if he has time he can complete any throw,” Wright said. “We definitely want to get in his face and kind of bother him.”   var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
