Showing the benefits of a bye week, Eli Manning threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to rookie Rueben Randle and set up another score with a 59-yard screen pass to help the New York Giants take a 17-7 first-quarter lead over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. Andre Brown scored on a 2-yard run after the long pass to Ahmad Bradshaw and Lawrence Tynes kicked a 43-yard field goal after a Corey Webster interception in the game that had the early signs of a shootout at MetLife Stadium. Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson hooked up on a 61-yard scoring pass that had to be reviewed to see if the receiver stepped out of bounds before making the catch. Each team scored a touchdown on its opening possession, with the Giants accomplishing the feat for the first time since playing Carolina in the third week of the season.
