With his legal woes now out of the way, Brandon Marshall is returning his focus to football. He's also wasting no time aiming big.

As in, a trip to New Orleans in February big.

During an appearance on ESPN's "First Take" Friday, the Bears receiver gushed over the potential of his new team, emphasizing how they have the potential to win the Super Bowl, USA Today reported.

“Honestly, I think we can not only make it to the Super Bowl, but I think we'll have a chance to win it," said Marshall.

Marshall is far from an introverted individual, so him making his feelings public is far from a stunner. However, Chicago has reloaded this offseason, shoring up glaring weaknesses via free agency and the draft, with Marshall providing a (much-needed) dominant presence at the position.

When asked if the Bears, playing in the tough NFC North, can keep up with their divisional counterparts, Marshall noted it's the team's defense that sets them apart from the pack (see what I did there?), and added even the offense is coming along nicely.

“I look at it the other way. You have to pay respect to the Packers because they won the division, but those teams don't have a defense like we do.

“On the offensive side of the ball, we know what we have in Matt Forte and Jay Cutler, and adding me to the passing game—and opening up other alleys for Devin Hester and Earl (Bennett)—it's just going to make our offense and our team that much better. But what we have that they don't have is that defense."

On paper, the Bears possess a boatload of talent, and certainly could take the next step forward this year. But, at least until August, we won't know if the product on paper translates well to the gridiron. Marshall probably should hold off on stamping his ticket.
