The Cal Bears ended the spring with a visitor from the past, and hopefully his appearances springboards their future.  According to College Football Talk a fast, impressive, and familiar back sprinted off right tackle for a 22 yard touchdown on the games final play. Cal first year head coach Sonny Dykes was trying to make a big splash while finishing off his first spring with the team.  So after a conversation with former Cal star running back and current Seahawks monster back Marshawn Lynch, Dykes decided to play a trick on the crowd, and bring some excitement to the fan base. Dykes got Lynch in pads, and inserted him for the final play.  Lynch went around right tackle for a 22 yard touchdown and was mobbed by the offense. Of course the Cal defense was instructed not to touch Lynch. “We told the guys if anybody tackled him, it was going to be a $25 million fine,” Dykes said according to the Oakland Tribune. “I didn’t want to be getting a call from Pete (Carroll, Lynch’s coach with the Seahawks).” Lynch, is second on Cal’s all-time rushing list (3,230) and  is hopeful Dykes and his staff can turn around a program that won just three games in 2012, its worst record since 2001. “I felt pretty good out there knowing this was home,” Lynch said, adding, “I hope his regime comes and they turn it back into what it was when I was here.”
