Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford came up short in his quest to reach 5,000 passing yards for the second straight season. His 272 yards give him 4,967 for the season.Fantasy Spin:Stafford took 727 pass attempts to get there, the most in one season in NFL history. Stafford will finish a disappointing season with 24 total touchdowns (20 passing, four rushing), 17 fewer than last season.

  • It seems to me (as a newcomer to football)that Matt Stafford has managed to lose the last two games for the Lions. I watched him throw the ball to Johnson who had five players covering him rather than make a decision to throw a shorter distance to others. Any quarterback who is on the ten yard line and can't get a touchdown, doesn't seem worthy of all the praise I hear heaped on this guy. And while I have the chance....what's with our players having the ball stripped from their hands..not once but many times during a game. My final observation..get rid of all players who fumble the ball by pulling them out. This would send a signal to the others to hold onto it like they do their million dollar contracts! And STOP the showboating...believe me when I say, if you catch a ball during a game..this is YOUR JOB..no bows necessary. Boy, that felt good~!
