Detroit Lions' quarterback Matthew Stafford is not revealing the extent of his that he suffered on Sunday, according to mlive.com.

Stafford left Sunday's game against Tennessee with a leg injury in the fourth quarter. Detroit welcomes Minnesota to Ford Field in week 4.

The 2009 first overall pick has been injury prone in his NFL career. He sustained a knee knock in his rookie year and injured his shoulder in 2010. Stafford played a full season in 2011.

Shaun Hill will start at quarterback if Stafford misses anytime. Hill extraordinarily led Detroit into overtime before falling to Tennessee. Hill threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns including a hail mary as time expired in the fourth quarter.

Stafford looks good for Sunday

He wasn't limping Wednesday and he was back to practice Thursday. All signs point to Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford returning for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field. Stafford came out of Sunday's overtime loss at Tennessee in the final minutes of regulation when he aggravated an ailing right hip. He also missed Wednesday's practice...

Stafford sits out practice, taking injury day-to-day

ALLEN PARK, Mich. Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford didnt practice Wednesday, but he wasnt limping. His status for Sundays game against Minnesota probably wont be officially released until Fridays injury report. Im getting better, Stafford said. I feel better today than I did on Sunday. Taking it day-by-day, just trying to get better. Stafford wouldnt confirm the exact...

Big plays, penalties derail Detroit Lions’ comeback bid

There was no lack of drama in this game. The Titans’ 44-41 overtime victory over the Detroit Lions will certainly be remembered for late-game heroics and a plethora of late momentum changes. I had already written the headline and first paragraph of this article when Detroit found themselves down 41-27 with barely over a minute on the clock. With Matthew Stafford on the sideline...

Matthew Stafford’s status for Vikings game up in the air after leg injury

During yesterday’s 44-41 Lions OT loss at the hands of the hapless Tennessee Titans, Matthew Stafford was taken out of the game during the fourth quarter with what was later revealed to be a leg muscle strain. Although not considered serious, Stafford was set to undergo an MRI Monday and with the results not officially known, CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora tweeted some potentially...

Lions mum on QB Stafford's leg

Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz isn't saying much about quarterback Matthew Stafford's injured right leg. Stafford left late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 44-41 overtime loss at Tennessee with a strained muscle, and although Shaun Hill played well in a relief role, the last thing the Lions want is a return to the days when their franchise quarterback wasn't...

Lions keeping QB situation under wraps

The Detroit Lions lost starting QB Matthew Stafford to injury Sunday, but they are trying to keep his status hush-hush for this week’s game against the Vikings.

Mathew Stafford dealing with a hip injury

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Detroit Lions quarterback Mathew Stafford is dealing with a hip injury and there’s a good chance that he doesn’t practice much this week, but still plays on Sunday. “I would be surprised if he practiced Wednesday or Thursday, but ultimately, when the game rolls around, he’s a tough guy to count out. The injury looks to be more of a hip...

Back to the drawing board for the Detroit Lions

After suffering both an injury to star quarterback Matthew Stafford and a loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, it’s fair to say that the Detroit Lions have been left reeling. Sitting at 1-2, the Lions have to be concerned with the plethora of missed opportunities in their first three games. Now Detroit faces the Minnesota Vikings, a team that is coming off a victory against...

Lions To Make Decision On Matthew Stafford Friday

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said he had no update on quarterback Matthew Stafford (leg) or the MRI Stafford received Monday. Schwartz said he would make a decision by Friday.Fantasy Spin:If you want to be safe and don't have a quality backup on your roster, use a waiver claim on backup Shaun Hill, who played well in the substitute role.

Detroit Lions: Week 4 NFL Power Rankings (#23)

Last week: 21 (-2) Record: 1-2 Every year a team goes from in the playoffs to winning 5 games or fewer. The Lions, one of my preseason overrated teams, are a finalist for that spot, but I have them finishing a little bit better than that. However, their defense is atrocious just like last year and Matt Stafford, even if he doesn’t get hurt again, is not going to throw for 5000...

Lions' Hill best of the backups

ALLEN PARK, Mich. Its not going to happen in Detroit because Matthew Stafford is clearly established as the face of the franchise. But Shaun Hill is good enough to get a quarterback controversy started in other places. When you see him do things like he did Sunday, leading the Lions to two touchdowns in the final 18 seconds to force overtime, it makes you wonder why Hill isnt...

Detroit Lions vs. Tennessee Titans: Hero and Zero of the Game

This game can only be described as crazy.Tennessee gave away an 11 point half-time lead, scored five touchdowns of 60 plus yards, scored 21 points straight to go back up, and gave up a 14 point lead in the final 18 seconds of the game.Detroit was able to survive long scoring droughts, Matthew Stafford getting injured in the final two minutes of the game, and having the Titans score...

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions: Week 4 NFL Pick

Minnesota Vikings (2-1) at Detroit Lions (1-2) I’ve been saying it all along that the Lions are overrated. It’s one of the preseason predictions that I’m proud of. They sit at 1-2, coming off a loss to the Titans with only a comeback win by 3 at home against the Rams. Last year, they went 10-6 despite the league’s 23rd ranked defense because their passing offense was so good...
