According to former Omaha Nighthawks head coach Joe Moglia, former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett told him that he earned more money when he was in college then when he played in the UFL. The excerpt below if from Moglia’s book, thanks to Deadspin. He was a hard worker in practice and in games. But off the field, he was living a completely different life. “I took golf, fishing, and softball as classes,” Clarett says. “Away from class, anything you can think of I did in my 13 months at Ohio State.” Drugs and women were two of the things. Cars were another—he owned three of them at a time, including a brand-new Cadillac and Lexus. “I was living the NFL life in college,” he says. “I got paid more in college than I do now in the UFL.” People really don’t understand how many college football players are getting paid illegally by the schools they play for.  I’ts pretty scary.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Maurice Clarett: I got paid more at Ohio State than I did in the UFL

Maurice Clarett Says He ‘Got Paid More in College’ Than in UFL, Took Softball, Fishing As Classes at Ohio State

The story of former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett has long been a cautionary tale. Clarett’s brief time as a great Ohio State rusher became a hiatus in a life otherwise filled with arrests and trouble. But Clarett is not...

Craft’s Offensive Struggles Continue Against Savannah State

When will Aaron Craft start to become Aaron Craft again?   Craft’s offseason work was supposed to help him develop into the second option on offense for the Buckeyes, but has instead bent Craft all out of shape. Each shot he takes looks more and more timid, and less and less like his old self. Maybe the pressure has gotten to him? That seemed to be the case against Duke, the first...

Tigers can't keep up with No. 7 Buckeyes, 85-45

Horace Broadnax just hopes his team gains something from a road beating. Arnold Louis came off the bench to score 14 points but there was little production elsewhere as Savannah State came out on the wrong end of an 85-45 drubbing at the hands of No. 7 Ohio State on Wednesday night. ''We did some bad-habit things and if it carries over to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference...

Scott Developing Into Scary Weapon
