According to Adam Schefter, Maurice Jones-Drew will not be sidelined for the rest of the season, as the running back does not have the dreaded Lisfranc injury that would have required surgery, putting him on the bench for the remainder of the season. Jones-Drew, who won the rushing title just last year, will still be out for multiple games, according to Schefter. The team is calling the injury simply a sprained foot, and the injury was sustained on the first play of the Sunday's game against the Raiders. Jones-Drew stayed in for another play before exiting the game for good. While Jones-Drew is out, Rashad Jennings will once again move into the starting role at running back. In his preseason duty, Jennings carried the load without missing a step. His ability to run the ball gave the Jaguars more than enough leverage to simply ignore Jones-Drew's holdout. Even with a solid backup at running back, the Jaguars are now shallow at a position normally fully stocked. This weekend's game against the Green Bay Packers will be just the fourth game in Jones-Drew's career that he's missed over the span of his seven year career. [follow]
