by Dennis J. GeorgatosFiled under: Chiefs, AFC West, NFL Training CampThe Chiefs received encouraging news Monday about cornerback Maurice Leggett, who was taken off the field on a stretcher after suffering a neck injury in Saturday's exhibition game at Tampa Bay.
Chiefs coach Todd Haley, quoted on the team's website, said that Leggett was expected to make a full recovery and could resume football activities "sooner rather than later."
"Everything looks good," Haley added. "There is nothing spinal or anything like that. He was in a pretty good condition and I think that the trainers and doctors did everything that they were supposed to do as far as taking all precautions. It's a scary situation, but that part of it is out of the mix."
