Defending the Star:
After watching the Cowboys get completely destroyed against the Eagles on Sunday night I am finally convinced about the state of the team. The Cowboys are just a completely average team right now. They aren't as terrible as the Eagles' game might make you believe. But they also aren't nearly as good as the dominating win against the Rams might fool you into believing. The Cowboys can beat any team and they can lose to any team. That is a sign of a team that is very average.I think it is pretty obvious that the odds of the Cowboys making a run at the Super Bowl are not good at this point in the season. It isn't impossible but it doesn't look very likely. But I also don't expect to see the Cowboys collapse down the stretch either. 8-8 or 9-7 appears to be where this team is headed if something doesn't change. No fan wants to see their team go 8-8 or 9-7, but I can't be completely disappointed in that type of a season either. Let's be honest....

Morning links: Romo – the good, the bad and the ugly
In my story today, the Seattle Seahawks are wondering which Tony Romo will greet them when they travel to Arlington, Texas, to take on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Will it be the clutch Romo, who played with a broken rib while quarterbacking his team to a come-from-behind, 27-24 overtime victory at San Francisco – the 49ers’ only loss this season? Or will Seattle face...

Is this the new Tony Romo? A non-gunslinger? He played to protect the ball, and without confidence. That's not his game.
Lack of Carries for RB DeMarco Murray Will Doom Jason Garrett, Dallas Cowboys
The reason why the Dallas Cowboys didn’t run the ball in Sunday night’s 34-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles was expected and predictable. However, it’s been the one true flaw of Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett since he took over the team midway through last season. During the loss to the Eagles, Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray averaged 9.25 yards per carry, way more than...

Jason Garrett praises “amazing” DeMarcus Ware
It was easy to overlook, as Philadelphia destroyed Dallas on Sunday night, that Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware had a four-sack game in defeat. But Cowboys coach Jason Garrett noticed. “I thought it was an amazing performance,” Garrett said. “I think he was credited with 11 tackles in the game, five tackles for loss, including four…
