When LeSean McCoy heard about being selected to his first Pro-Bowl, he joked that the first thing he did was call Joe Banner.

While he was just kidding, the amount of money Banner and the Eagles will likely have to shell out to McCoy is very serious.

McCoy said today that he wanted to remain a member of the Eagles for the rest of career, something the fans likely want to see as well. He has flourished under the Eagles system, breaking team records and catapulting his way all the way to the top of the list of running backs in NFL.

Could the Pro-Bowl nod speed up his desire for a new contract?

"I’ve got time to talk about contracts and stuff like that," said McCoy. "But I just want to be the right fit and for me it’s not just football-wise but as a person, and coach (Reid) makes everybody feel like they’re a part of this team together. Before Pro Bowl year and everything, he always treated me with respect and the same way he does today.”

The Eagles still have McCoy under contract for next season at just under $1 million dollars, a bargain to say the least. With Drew Rosenhaus representing McCoy, it's hard to imagine the Pro-Bowl running back stepping on the fields of Lehigh University without a new contract. No life span in the NFL is shorter then a running backs, so if McCoy is going to cash in the time is now.

Of course, seeing how DeSean Jackson went about getting a contract- by holding out and letting it effect his play- could make McCoy decide that Rosenhaus might not be giving the best advice.

Then again, their is a big difference between McCoy and Jackson in the eyes of the Eagles- McCoy produced, and Jackson did not.

Which means that McCoy will likely get a long term deal very soon- and one that could keep him an Eagle the rest of his career.

Just like McCoy wants.
