Found April 05, 2010 on DraftNation:

Donovan McNabb will remain in the NFC East. However, he has a new home in Washington, D.C. The Eagles and Redskins have struck a deal that will keep McNabb in the division. McNabb is headed to Washington for the 37th pick in the 2010 draft and a third or fourth-round pick in 2011, conditional on McNabb's performance and where the Redskins finish in the division in 2010. McNabb joins fellow QBs Jason Campbell, Rex Grossman and Colt Brennan in D.C. The move signals the beginning of the Kevin Kolb era in Philadelphia. It also means that Washington will not spend its first-round pick on Notre Dame QB Jimmy Clausen. The team will likely target an offensive tackle at No. 4 to replace the recently-retired Chris Samuels.

  • This is a win, win for Washington. If Donovan performs well enough and is with the 'Skins for two or three years the trade will be well worth it. At the least if Donovan doesn't work out and ends up doing a "one and I'm done" at least Washington doesn't have to worry about facing him again within the division.

Philly and it's fans really didn't appreciate this man and what he accomplished. As a Redskin fan I've been suffering year after year of empty promises while mediocre or washed up players paraded through DC for a Snyder payday, while wasting talent like Portis, Cooley, and a few others by not complimenting them properly. I would have love to have Donovan McNabb play for Washington years ago and would have appreciated the fact that he gets you in the playoffs and division championships.

I would like to see Don get ring before the cleats are hung up for good. I would like it even better if he got that ring for and with us, the Washington Redskins. But if he can get us deep into the playoffs this season? Then I will be that much appreciative regardless if a superbowl is still out of reach. He is a professional and deserves more accolades and respect than what most Philly fans gave him.

Welcome to Washington Donovan, glad to have you.
