Don't tell "Double J" this is a meaningless game with the Redskins on Sunday...
Rookie Jaiquawn Jarrett, the Eagles' second-round draft pick out of Temple University, will start in Kurt Coleman's spot at strong safety alongside free safety Nate Allen. (Coleman is on IR with a biceps injury...)
Jarrett will be making his second start. He also replaced an injured Allen against Arizona. He made seven tackles, but also was beaten on several plays (see photo above) during a 21-17 loss to the Cardinals.
"He's had a couple of opportunities in there when other guys were banged up and he did a nice job," Reid said. "I would just expect him to continue to build on that. This will be a great experience for him, so I think it's a positive."Jaiquawn Jarrett's first and only NFL start ended with the rookie safety unsuccessfully chasing perhaps the best wide receiver in the NFL as the Eagles dropped a 21-17 decision to the Arizona Cardinals ...

Buried beneath the wreckage of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2011 season, is the fact that Michael Vick hasn’t played like a $20 million quarterback should.
It seems to have been forgotten that Vick became a $100 million man last offseason, with roughly $40 million guaranteed. His salary for 2011 is $20 million, and he’ll receive the bulk of his remaining guaranteed money in...

McCoy is nursing a sprained ankle and was expected to play in the Eagles’ last game of the season. Philadelphia will go with backups Ronnie Brown and Dion Lewis.McCoy had a breakout year in 2011, rushing for 1,309 yards – second in the NFL – and scoring 20 rushing...
The safety play from the Eagles this season has been a weak spot in this defense, and will likely have to be addressed in the offseason.
But that did not stop Defensive Coordinator Juan Castillo from speaking very highly of both Nate Allen and Jaiquawn Jarrett today at the NovaCare Complex.
"Nate Allen is going to be a Pro-Bowler someday," said Castillo on his 2nd year...
Running back LeSean McCoy (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 17, according to Tim McManus of Philly Sports Daily.
Coach Andy Reid does expect McCoy to play though after being a limited participant in Fridays practice, and it has been noted that the Eagles want their stud to challenge for the NFL rushing title. He currently trails leader Maurice Jones-Drew by 128 yards.
When the season started 17 weeks ago, Eagles fans saw this game as a potential meaningless match-up. However, it was thought that this game would be meaningless because the Eagles would have already clinched the division. Unfortunately, win or lose, this will be the final game for the Philadelphia Eagles this season.
