When the Patriots finally and mercifully cut linebacker Adalius Thomas more than a week ago, the assumptions ran wild. You heard teams like the Jets, the Ravens, and the 49ers, with most people thinking Thomas would be swooped up quickly.
Except, nothing has happened.
NFL.com reporter Jason La Canfora says that a union of the Jets and Thomas is “doubtful at best,” and the other suitors aren’t clear.
NFL.com has a breakdown of the various reports involving Thomas right here, but the urgency isn’t there. In fact, consider that he hasn’t made a visit yet. Quite a difference from last time he was a free agent, I’d say.
ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter says teams are studying the film of Thomas from last season and “aren’t overly impressed.” (Not surprised, right?) He described teams as “leery and cautious.” Some teams to think about are the Broncos, Dolphins, Packers, Chiefs and Bills.
