It’s next to impossible to judge the Detroit Lions based upon preseason action. They went undefeated last preseason then proceeded to wander about the United States in a daze during the regular season as they got their cans handed to them by every team they played against.
But at least they’re in Canton!
During the offseason, they’ve been somewhat revamped. There were substantial upgrades at linebacker. That pretty much sums it up.
As far as the draft goes, let’s be honest. They squandered two first round draft picks by choosing players that were definitely not needed to build the team.
Historically, quarterbacks drafted No. 1 generally do not do well in the NFL. The odds are against Stafford being successful even with a decent team, and Detroit is definitely not a decent team.
And picking a tight end? They gave up Roy Williams for a tight end? A tight end th...
