The Detroit Lions made history Wednesday signing wide receiver Calvin Johnson to a 7 year, $132 million extension, making him the highest paid receiver of all time. The deal guarantees Johnson $60 million and surpasses Larry Fitzgerald’s $120 million deal signed last season.

Johnson, the number 2 pick in 2007, lead all receivers in yards in 2011 with 1681 earning All-Pro honours for the first time.

In 5 years, Johnson’s amassed 5872 yards and 49 touchdowns.

The deal keeps him in Detroit till the end of the 2019 season.
