With the season less than two weeks away, the Miami Dolphins are tuning up as they enter into the season. Throughout this game , there were many positives , and a just a couple of negatives. The Dolphins kept it close, but the Houston Texans won the game 24-17. For Dolphins fans , the first quarter had to be an emotional roller coaster. Starting tight end Dustin Keller injured his knee going for a pass in the first quarter. Unfortunately, Keller has been ruled out for the regular season. As the game continued, quarterback Matt Moore really struggled. Moore was sacked at least twice on two of his drives, and he seemed very uncomfortable during his time on the field. Third stringer Pat Delvin was out with an injury, but with the way things went for Moore, he still has a chance to claim the number 2 spot on the depth chart. On the brighter side, Ryan Tannehill and Mike Wallace are gaining chemistry. After Wallace had zero catches in the last preseason game, this game was  the first official Tannehill -Wallace completion as they connected on 3 balls for 58 yards, including a 9-yard touchdown. The running game was very balanced. Daniel Thomas averaged over 6 yards per carry in the game, and Lamar Miller was able to score one touchdown. The Dolphins will have an underrated two-headed monster. Both Miller and Thomas are solid runners. Thomas’ number of carries will increase due to the absence of now-Lions running back Reggie Bush. Miller will be the more explosive back who has the stamina to carry the ball 15-20 times a game. The Dolphins defense performed very well. The Phins combined for five sacks and Brent Grimes made a great interception on Matt Schaub. The Dolphins will probably have an underrated defense once again. Year in and year out, the Dolphins always provide a solid defense. With this year’s offensive upgrades, the team has a lot to look forward to.
