Michael Hamlin's playing status uncertain

With the addition of return man Allen Rossum, the Cowboys will basically give up a coverage guy when it comes to setting the 45-man roster. Safety Michael Hamlin, who just returned from being sidelined with a broken wrist, could feel the effect of adding another specialist. ``We expected Hamlin to be back and we really had to get through a week (with his injury), which we did,'' coach Wade Phillips said. ``We think Hamlin's going to be a good player. We're going to try to work him into the secondary and special teams.I think he's about ready. It depends on the 45; it's hard to add special teams guys, which is what he'd be, when you have to delete one of them. You give up a coverage guy when you give up a specialist.''
