D. Orlando Ledbetter lists RB Michael Turner and DE John Abraham as two players who could be released this offseason. Ledbetter notes that the Falcons should have $1.7 million in cap space once they carry over $1.3 million from last year. Releasing both Turner and Abraham would free up an addition $10.4 million in cap space. There has already been a lot of speculation that Turner would likely be on the chopping block, so this further suggests that the Falcons will be looking for a replacement in the next few months. Abraham, 34, is under contract for another two years at $4.25 million and $3.25 million respectively. He tallied 10 sacks this season and actually played pretty well this season, so cutting him loose only creates another hole to fill at a later time. Ledbetter adds that OLB Stephen Nicholas, CB Dunta Robinson and OT Tyson Clabo could be all be approached regarding reworking their current contracts. Atlanta is reportedly prepared to lockup Matt Ryan this offseason. The price for franchise quarterbacks is getting close to $20 million annually, so they’ll need plenty of cash to even consider that idea.   The post Michael Turner & John Abraham Could Be Cap Casualties appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
