Enigmatic quarterback Tim Tebow is having some difficulty finding a new team to latch onto ever since being released by the New York Jets late last month. His unorthodox throwing motion and lack of accuracy have been cited as a couple of the main reasons why teams are choosing to avoid him like a plague. But at least one former coach said he would be willing to take a flier on the former Heisman winner. That former coach is NFL Hall of Famer Mike Ditka.“I think [Tebow] can play quarterback in the NFL, but whatever offense you run might have to be tweaked a bit,” Ditka said in his “4 Downs With Ditka” column in the Chicago Sun-Times.  “This kid is a talent and he proved it in college.  He is an outstanding leader.  Now, does he have an unusual throwing motion?  Yes.  But there a lot of quarterbacks that didn’t have a perfect throwing motion.  Some of them turned out to be great quarterbacks because they were great leaders.  I really do think there’s a place for him.  If not at quarterback, I think he could play tight end.  If I was in the league and coaching today, I would take a chance on him at quarterback.”Ditka played 13 seasons in the NFL and served as a head coach for another 14 seasons. So, it's safe to say the 73-year-old knows a thing or two about what it takes to be successful in America's most popular professional sports league. As for Tebow, he has yet to stick as a regular NFL starting quarterback since the Denver Broncos drafted him in the first round of the 2010 draft. He spent two years in Denver before being traded to New York to make room for Peyton Manning. In 2012, Tebow played sparingly behind Jets starter Mark Sanchez, attempting just eight passes in the regular season for a total of 39 yards.Tebow owns a completion percentage of 47.9% in his NFL career spanning 35 games.Via NBC Sports
