Perpetual Lawyer Mike Florio just posted that if Tiki does indeed return to the NFL, the NY Giants would still retain Tiki Barber’s rights if he had one more year on his contract after 2006 when he parted ways with the organization:
If Barber still had one or more years remaining on his contract when he retired, the Giants still hold his rights. They’d have to decide whether to keep him or cut him loose, once he is reinstated by the NFL.
Wouldn’t this be an interesting tid bit to hold over Tiki’s head until he apologized to Eli and Tom Coughlin about his negative statements over the last 5 years.
