Mike Mayock of the NFL Network believes Andrew Luck will be a very good NFL player but he doesn’t think he’s a “once in a lifetime” prospect.
As we all know, there are a lot of people that believe Luck is the best NFL prospect that’s entered the draft, in a very long time. Even Mayock himself has Luck rated as the highest player on his board, but he hasn’t bought into all of the hype.
Mayock is one of the best talent evaluators in football and it’s refreshing to hear his take on a player, rather then having to listen to Todd McShay and Mel Kiper Jr. hype a player to death on ESPN.
Luck looks like he’ll be a very good player in the NFL, but we don’t know if he’ll be an elite NFL quarterback.

Mike Mayock loves Andrew Luck but doesn't consider him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity:
NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock is a big Andrew Luck fan. Luck is the top player on Mayock’s board, and Luck’s passion for the game reminds Mayock of Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan.
Mayock just doesn’t see Luck as some sort of “once in a lifetime” prospect like others have...
Even if the Bengals sign a running back in free agency, it’s likely they’ll select one in April’s draft as well. Fortunately, it’s a fairly deep draft class, headlined by Alabama’s Trent Richardson. In this segment of Draft Lab, ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay discuss the draft’s best running backs. Enjoy.
