Mark Sanchez was the most hilariously terrible starting quarterback in the NFL in 2012. KSK is eminently grateful for Nacho’s repulsive play, as it made our jobs much, much easier. The buttfumble was a gift to humanity. But for the Jets and their fans, Sanchez is the greatest of all burdens: a huge deficiency at the sport’s most important position, who can not be removed without a substantial financial penalty. Were it not for the $58.25 million extension that the team gave Sanchez last year, the Jets could release him right now with no penalty. Instead, Nacho is owed $8.25 million in guaranteed money for the 2013 season. Not only does that mean he’ll have to hang around for at least another year, but what little trade value Sanchez would have is negated.
