The first day of free agency flew by.  Plenty of guys signed big deals.  Wide Receivers came at a premium.  Everybody and their brother tried to grab one.  They came off the board like hotcakes.  WesAll the big name guys were signed but Mike Wallace and Brandon Lloyd.  The two teams that we were expected to fear in free agency are both in the market for a receiver still.  San Francisco and New England are both in the market for a receiver.

Free Agent Receivers Signed:

  • Steve Johnson- Buffalo
  • Vincent Jackson- Tampa Bay
  • Pierre Garcon- Washington
  • Randy Moss- San Francisco
  • Reggie Wayne- Indianpolis
  • Marques Colston- New Orleans
  • Robert Meachem- San Diego
  • Josh Morgan- Wahsington
  • Lavelle Hawkins- Tennessee
  • Wes Welker- New England(Franchise Tag)
  • DeSean Jackson- Philadelphia Eagles (Franchise Tag)
  • Dwayne Bowe- Kansas City Chiefs (Franchise Tag)
Like Hotcakes!!!

San Francisco is bringing in Lloyd for a visit even though they have already signed Randy Moss.  There were rumors yesterday that Mike Wallace would make a trip to San Francisco as well but nothing was out there to make them legit.  The New England Patriots were not big players yesterday.  They have been rumored to be going after Lloyd and Wallace as well.  It looks like it could come down to which team gets Lloyd first the other will be going after Wallace.

Lloyd will be the guy the teams covet because they do not have to give up a pick for him.  It looks as though that these two teams will be willing to give up a pick for Wallace.  It will be something to watch for in the upcoming days.  Following Brandon Lloyd will be the best way to keep up with Wallace.

Other than these two teams the Steelers look to be in good position to keep Wallace.  I do not see any other teams getting into the race for Wallace for a first round pick.  The Bengals seem to be looking for offensive linemen and cornerbacks.  They do not seem to have an eye on Wallace as of yet.  They still have plenty of time though.
