According to Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones doesn’t expect wide receiver Miles Austin to be ready until the season opener against the Giants.
“We’re basically just wanting to make sure he’s ready for New York,” Jones said Tuesday on KRLD-FM per ESPNDallas.com. “That’s where it’s all headed for him. He probably will need some work, just logic tells you, before he gets in the game, but we’re not interested in seeing him (play in the preseason).
“The risks of him getting out there and really competing at this time would I think be overruled (by) the game we have for him being completely healthy in New York. Now, I’m sure he’d be the first to tell you he could go if we were playing New York tonight, and we will have him as ready as he can be for that. So that’s the plan.”
Hopefully Austin will remain healthy once he gets back on the field.

DeMarco Murray came alive in his rookie season in 2011. Murray put up 236 yards in his breakout performance (vs. St. Louis).
It’s not four touchdowns in a single game, but Al Bundy would be proud of the display Murray put on last year.
Sadly, Murray went down with injury and Felix Jones handled the run-game responsibilities in typical mediocre fashion.

One of the best things about the NFL preseason outside of it ending is the opportunity to make wide-sweeping judgments on players we've barely seen. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, even though Cowboys tight end Jason Witten won’t have to undergo surgery on his spleen, he’ll likely miss the season opener against the Giants.
“Witten still is aiming to return in time for the Cowboys’ Sept. 5 regular-season opener against the New York Giants, but it is questionable whether he will be ready to play.
“Witten is more...
According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is suffering from Patella tendonitis.
Filed to @espndallas – Patella tendinitis for Dez Bryant. Rest is the word. Too early to know if he plays in preseason

As far as I know, the only way for Bryant to feel better, is to rest his knee.
Is anyone really surprised by this?
