Found August 27, 2013 on The Penalty Flag:
Christian Ponder and the Minnesota Vikings’ first team offense got some extensive work Sunday evening against the San Francisco 49ers’ first and second team defensive units and for the most part, it wasn’t a performance that would instill confidence into the hearts of the team’s fans, leaving the winless Norsemen on the short end of a 34-14 score. Ponder came out firing on the first drive, trying to hit Greg Jennings deep, but couldn’t complete the poorly thrown pass.  The Vikings and Ponder went right back into their shell, tossing a little short thing that gained absolutely nothing and that had to suffice until the ball was knocked out of Ponder’s hand on the next play.  One thing that is very noticeable about Ponder is his nervousness when too many people get too close to him.  His feet begin to get happy and he will **** that arm once or twice and on this particular play’s second reload, he happened to be carrying the ball like a loaf of bread when someone bolted in and slapped the food to the ground.  The 49ers recovered the fumble and so another night of frustration, errors and inexplicable decision making began... Is Greg Jennings Regretting His Move?

I mean, you look at him rolling his eyes in that picture and - without any kind of context - yes, absolutely he is regretting his move. The move, of course, is moving from the freezing taint of Green Bay to the glory hole of Minneapolis, swapping playing with the Packers for playing with the Vikings. It was all fun and games this summer, when Jennings and Christian Ponder were...

Minnesota Vikings cut 13 players

The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday that they have released 13 players, cutting their roster down to 75. Lawrence Jackson, a former first-round defensive end selected by the Seattle Seahawks in 2008, was

Vikings’ Jerome Felton suspended 3 games

The NFL announced Monday that Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl fullback Jerome Felton has been suspended for the first three games of the season for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. The

5 Vikings factors to follow for 2013

Adrian Peterson, the reigning NFL MVP, will be the focal point of the Vikings, but the success of a team looking to “seize this moment” will go beyond Peterson. Here are five storylines to follow this year.

Adrian Peterson Predicts He Will Run For 2,500 Yards

Adrian Peterson is one of the greatest runners ever to wear a an NFL jersey. He came back from knee surgery to lead his Minnesota Vikings to a playoff berth in 2012. He also came dangerously close to relegating Eric Dickerson to second place on the single-season rushing title. Now, Peterson has gone one step further in his quest to be the greatest running back ever. In an interview...

Adrian Peterson’s FB Facing 3 Game Drug Suspension

All-Pro FB Jerome Felton has been suspended three games according to Adam Caplan. Felton earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in his first season with the Vikings last year, and paved the way for Adrian Peterson to take home NFL MVP honors after rushing for 2,097 yards. It’s not a good look for them to lose AD’s lead blocker considering we know what they have at QB in Christian...

Christian Ponder took his wife to Arbys for their wedding dinner

You would think that a starting NFL quarterback would want to take his bride to be out for a nice extravagant dinner, but I guess not. Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder took his wife Samantha Ponder to Arbys for their wedding dinner,  per the Sports Kings. Mrs. Ponder told the St. Paul Pioneer Press the following:  I never was really a girl who planned out what my wedding would...

46ers Rookie Marcus Lattimore sees role models in Gore, Peterson

Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson are among the NFL's best role models for running backs looking to overcome career-threatening knee injuries. They are also the 49ers' and Minnesota Vikings' workhorses and regardless of how much they play in Sunday night's exhibition game at Candlestick Park they are an inspiration to 49ers rookie Marcus Lattimore. Lattimore who'...

Vikings review: Three up, three down

As bad as the Vikings’ 34-14 loss may have seemed, it wasn’t all bad. We pick three players with good games and three that struggled after re-watching and re-charting the game, and Christian Ponder isn’t in either of our lists.

5 Good Reasons The Green Bay Packers Will Miss The Playoffs

To most observers, it would seem highly unlikely that the 2013 version of the Green Bay Packers will miss the playoffs. While the Packers did lose key players in Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, and Charles Woodson, they also infused new, young talent to an already talent-laden team. However, we do know that every year teams that made the playoffs the previous season do not get a...

5 things learned in Sunday's preseason loss at San Francisco

The third preseason game is supposed to be the dress rehearsal for the regular season, the best example of what is to come in two weeks when the Minnesota Vikings open the season on Sept. 8 at Detroit. As usual, the first-team offense and defense played longer on Sunday in a 34-14 loss at San Francisco, against one of the favorites to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Sunday...

San Francisco 49ers vs Minnesota Vikings Preseason Preview

The San Francisco 49ers face off against Adrian Peterson and the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Night Football in the third preseason game. This game is what many refer to as the dress rehearsal as it is pretty much the last time any of the true starters will play in the preseason. There are still some jobs and roster spots at stake. This may be the game where we get to see Colin Kaepernick...
