How about that? The Vikings had the league’s worst record in games decided by a touchdown or less last season, going 2-9, and in their opener, they lead a comeback drive and win by 3 in overtime. That type of thing is unpredictable on a yearly basis, so that fact only should boost this team up a few wins from the 3 wins they had last season. They also have some nice young talent, but they play in way too tough of a division to compete in this season. Besides, a comeback home victory in overtime over Jacksonville is hardly impressive.

I think Donovan is still having a hard time coming to grips that his career is over. Even though he has a nice gig now at the NFL Network, he is still is hoping that he gets that call.
Until then he is making up excuses why things didn’t work out with the Redskins and Vikings.
Free agent quarterback Donovan McNabb was a guest on the Double Coverage podcast with Steve Wyche...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Blair Walsh, the rookie kicker with his locker tucked into a corner of the Minnesota Vikings' locker room at the Metrodome, was enjoying the celebration of Sunday's overtime victory when team owner Zygi Wilf approached.
Walsh had just propelled Minnesota to a 26-23 overtime win against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season-opener by hitting two clutch...
Vikings rookie kicker Blair Walsh has garnered honors for his performance in Sunday's overtime victory over Jacksonville.
Walsh was named the NFCs Special Teams Player of the Week after going a perfect 4-4 on field goals, including a 55-yarder to send the game into overtime, where he kicked a 38-yard field goal that turned out to be the game winner.
Walsh is the first rookie...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. The Minnesota Vikings signed receiver Jerome Simpson in the offseason to be a big-play threat opposite of versatile playmaker Percy Harvin. The team offered Simpson the one-year deal knowing the likelihood he was going to be suspended for the start of the season, and the league followed through with a three-game suspension. Almost as soon as Simpson came to training...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. All the talk of improvement and growth this offseason for Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder finally gave way last week to a chance to prove it in a regular-season game.Ponder came through with his most efficient game in his 11th career start. He was 20 of 27 passing for 270 yards. He didn't throw a touchdown, but he also avoided interceptions...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Christian Ponder said he never felt as if Sunday's game was out of reach, even after the Minnesota Vikings had allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to take a 23-20 lead with 27 seconds left.
Ponder, Minnesota's second-year quarterback, knew he was going to get the ball back with one more chance, even if a season-opening win looked unlikely. A year ago, the...
Starting quarterback Christian Ponder was 20-27 with 270 yards in the Minnesota Vikings overtime thriller against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, since Adrian Peterson's return to the team was so triumphant and he broke the Vikings' all-time rushing record, not many realized how well Ponder played.
Ponder started off the game quite poorly. He misread his receivers...
That’s right folks, as gross as it may sound, you can now own some of Brett Favre’s alleged pubic hair. Someone posted the following ad to the Minneapolis Craigslist offering the retired QB’s short, dark and curlies for the low, low price of $200, or best offer.
I’m thinking the best offer this guy is gonna get—Favre’s pubes or not—is going to be about $0, plus or...
The Vikings saw what Adrian Peterson could do in his return to game action, but what will the plan be going forward? They still don’t expect him to go “All Day” just yet.
Christian Ponder’s efficiency turned around when the Vikings went to a no-huddle offense. Plus, several former Vikings were drawing interest around the league.
Rookie kicker Blair Walsh performed perfectly under pressure situations Sunday, earning an NFL first and then Zygi Wilf’s tie.
Someone claiming they have Brett Favre’s pubic hair for sale has made at least one big error – the date on the evidence bag. The rest of the claims in the Craigslist ad we can’t vouch for or against.
What a great opening week in the NFL; there were so many great performances that were expected and some that were not expected. Here are three of the performances that amazed or failed to amaze in Week 1.Adrian Peterson - Minnesota VikingsThis guy made me eat my words and choke on them. I refused to consider Peterson in the top 10 RBs, or even the top 20 RBs to start this week...
