Home sweet home The Seattle Seahawks are finally back in the win column, after a big win at home against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. This marks the start of a weaker second half of the season, and a chance for the Seahawks to make their move up the standings. Read more about this here. With the win on Sunday, the Seahawks are once again over the .500 mark, and are making head ways on the offensive side of the ball as well. Two weeks in a row, the Hawks offense has come up with their best point total to date, meanwhile the defense has given up a lot more than they should at the same time. Are we turning a corner in a different light too? With that, I give you my top 10! 10: Not in our house Adrian The Vikings came to town with the best running back in the league in tow, and even though Adrian Peterson scored twice, he just didn’t have enough to take over the game like the Vikings needed him to. 9: Seahawks Win! 30-20 was the final, and the Seahawks remain one of the toughest home teams to face up against in the NFL. Another home game next week against the Jets should cement our legacy a bit more. 8: Golden Boy Seahawks 3rd year wide receiver Golden Tate is finally becoming a man in this league. He added another TD to his resume on Sunday, bring his season total to 5 on the year. I would hate to see what this offense would look like without Tate. 7: The Beast was back Marshawn Lynch put on quite a little show on Sunday, one upping (with the win) his counterpart Adrian Peterson en route to 124 yards and a TD. Lynch wasn’t needed as much in this game with the passing game going so well, but no lead is ever safe in the NFL, and his yardage is always key to a Seahawks victory. 6: Three TD’s and a cloud of smoke Russell Wilson keeps padding his stats, all the while quiting his haters. Another top notch performance out of the rookie on Sunday. A preview of the Veterans Day festivites at the Clink on Sunday. (Photo: seahawks.com) 5: Hawks announce Vet festivities for Sunday As we all know, November 11th is Veterans Day, and with the Seahawks always a little ahead of the curve, they decided not to wait until Monday like the rest of the Country to celebrate. The festivities will include a 52,500 person card stunt, as well as an American Flag that will cover the field of play. This will all culminate with WWII veteran Joe Moser raising the 12th man flag. What a way to support our service men, Seahawks style! 4: Set backs didn’t affect the Hawks I sometimes forget about the pain that is setting your clocks back, as in Arizona, we don’t use daylight savings time. That hour lost didn’t affect the Seahawks on Sunday, as they ran and passed themselves to a victory at home. 3: Undefeated at home Thanks in part to the loudest crowd in the NFL, the Seahawks remained undefeated at home in the 2012 season. The offense played great, and the 12th man deserves credit for this one as well. 2: The home stretch With 9 games in the books, the Seahawks have only 7 games remaining in the 2012 NFL season. With the easy part of the schedule upcoming, I predict the Hawks will go 5-2 for the remainder of the season. This may not be enough to get us into the playoffs though, we will need to reverse one of my picks, preferably the San Francisco game, to make sure we get in. 1: Hawks make cuts It’s time for Hawks fans to say goodbye to a couple now former Seahawks players; Charlie Martin gets the axe from the active roster, and Lavasier Tuinei gets cut from the practice squad. It’s never easy to say goodbye to players from your favorite team, but this is a business, and if you don’t perform, you don’t stick around very long. Good luck guys with your future endeavors. Well that’s it for this week, look for another big win against the Jets on Sunday. CLICK HERE CHECK OUT THE SEAHAWKS BLOG IN OUR CLUBHOUSE SECTION AT NWSB!
