Respect Mr. Witten. Respect. Jason Witten is one of the most respected players in the league. Part of that may be because he's willing to continue running down the field without a helmet, and part of that may come from his strong work ethic. Still, when he told the Abilene Reporter-News he thought Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was "elite," I have to call BS. Romo hasn't been able to win big games in his career, and he's made a bad habit of throwing away games late in the 4th quarter. He's a solid quarterback, but he isn't elite. You may recall a story about a young New York Giants fan sending $3.36 to Brandon Jacobs in an effort to help the Giants keep the running back. As you know, it didn't work, but this story does have a happy ending. As Pro Football Talk reports, Jacobs sent the young fan a $5 bill (paying back the principal with interest of course), and treated the young fan to a couple hours at a bounce house of inflatable toys with Jacobs ...

Witten says Romo is an elite quarterback

Since 2006, there's probably no player on the Dallas Cowboys roster that has been asked about Tony Romo more than tight end Jason Witten. The two are good friends and two of the franchise's most valuable players. Witten, who has made the Pro Bowl seven times, was asked about Romo on Monday for a story in the Abilene Reporter-News. As usual, Witten praised Romo after mentioning...

Witten: Romo is 'elite' quarterback

Jason Witten has a lot of confidence in his teammate, Tony Romo. He has plenty of high praise for his quarterback and good friend.

Is Jason Garrett the right coach to lead the Dallas Cowboys?

Dallas Cowboys’ head coach Jason Garrett kind of reminds me a little bit of Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. Both are young first-time head coaches who have been entrusted with championship-caliber teams while still in their coaching infancy. Spoelstra didn’t have all of the talent he now has at his disposal when he first took over as coach of the Heat but he did produce two...

Running Game Is The Key

The Dallas Cowboys Running game has been below average over the past three season. Last year Felix Jones gained a lot of weight to become more durable. The problem is he also lost his explosiveness and that is why the Cowboys drafted him in the first round.  The reason why most people believed the Cowboys a threat to win the NFC East last year is Demarco Murray. The first game he...

Jason Witten: Tony Romo is “an elite quarterback”

Getty Images Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten sat down with AbileneSports.com and was asked about the disappointing end to last year’s  8-8 season. “No doubt it was a disappointment — going 8-8,” Witten said. “We had a chance to win the division and lost it. The Giants won and went to the Super Bowl. We don’t need any extra motivation.” Witten stands by Romo...

Ants In Your Pants; Stingers and Other Cowboy Drama

What would the NFL offseason be without some Dallas Cowboys drama and fluffy news? Not a normal NFL offseason is the answer to that question. Dallas has been making a little more noise than usual, and after falling flat last year and out of the playoff race, they are trying to live up to the high standards of playing on “America’s Team” but at +2500 Vegas is hoping you will...

Dez Bryant Making Strides

Wide receiver Dez Bryant has been making strides through the offseason, and quarterback Tony Romo remarked that he is getting better every week, according to the Dallas Morning News. Romo added, "The guys that really want to be great and have that ability to be great, you can't have enough of those guys." Fantasy Spin: Romo is the latest to garner praise for Bryant...

Jenkins soap opera plays on

Disgruntled Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins showed up for the team's mandatory minicamp after missing the voluntary offseason program and the OTAs.
