Philly Sports Muse:
What a whirlwind the past 24-48 hours have been for the Philadelphia Eagles. On Tuesday, all eyes were on Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. By midday on Wednesday, Bradley was forgotten when word broke that Oregon coach Chip Kelly had reversed course and decided to come to the NFL and, specifically, to Philadelphia.
Now that the question of who the head coach is settled, many more follow. How will Kelly’s high octane, high scoring offense translate to the NFL? Does the Kelly hire make it more likely that Mike Vick will be with the Birds in 2013?
One thing’s for sure: when hiring a new coach with no NFL experience, the assistant hires are absolutely essential to get right. – CSNPhilly

While speculation grew that Howie Roseman was the reason that Philadelphia was having difficulty landing a head coach, he was apparently THE reason that the Eagles got Ke...

During his introductory press conference today, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly told the media that he’s a big fan of quarterback Nick Foles.
“I’m a huge fan of Nick (Foles). We hit him as many times as we could hit someone and he kept getting up,” said Kelly, per Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com.
We’ll see if Kelly is enough of fan to keep Foles around.
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly met with quarterback Michael Vick on Friday. But there’s been no resolution to whether Vick will be released this coming offseason or not.
I believe it’s pretty obvious that Vick will be let go at some point. He’s due to make $15 million in 2013. There’s no way the Eagles will...

Howard Eskin of WIP in Philadelphia was a guest on ESPN 980′s Inside the Lockerroom and indicated that even though Chip Kelly is now the Eagles’ head coach, quarterback Michael Vick is still likely on the way out.
“People say maybe Mike Vick can be his (Kelly’s) quarterback. Michael Vick won’t be here. He gets hurt every year. You got to move on from Michael Vick, and...
The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Chip Kelly, who went 46-7 in four years at Oregon, as their new head coach replacing Andy Reid, who was fired after a 4-12 season.
"Chip Kelly will be an outstanding head coach for the Eagles," owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement. "He has a brilliant football mind. He motivates his team with his actions as well as his words....
With Chip Kelly having agreed to become the next head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday, one of the questions on everyone’s mind is what his hiring will mean for the future of Michael Vick. Before Kelly’s arrival, it was widely assumed that Vick had played his last game in Philadelphia. The Eagles can release Vick prior to Feb. 6 without having to pay him any money...
Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, PFT reported that new Eagles head coach Brian Kelly and Michael Vick met Friday, though no decision was made on the quarterback's future. The Eagles aren't expected to make a decision in the "immediate future."
This process won't extend too long, however. The Eagles will be locked into $3 million of Vick'...
The Philadelphia Inquirer & Daily News is speculating that based on new head coach Chip Kelly's press conference Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback for 2013 "is not likely on the current roster." Kelly was introduced and quickly expressed that nothing is on or off the table as far as personnel is concerned. Quarterback Michael Vick is owed...
It was announced earlier today that the Philadelphia Eagles have hired Chip Kelly to be there next head coach. I guess owner Jeffrey Loria finally came to this conclusion - that Kelly would be his best choice - after interviewing almost every available recently fired coach or assistant in the NFL over the last two weeks. So is this a good hire or bad hire?Completely awful. It was snowing here Thursday, or at least this is what they kept saying on the news. It looked more like fat rain to my trained eye, not the least bit dangerous. This is the South, though, so the potential of wintry weather is breathlessly dissected tip to buzzer of almost every newscast in Georgia.
This is too bad for a couple of reasons:
1. The Falcons with Matt Ryan and Tony...
In a surpise turn of events, Chip Kelly had a change of heart on Wednesday and agreed to jump ship to the NFL as the newest head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. The signing of Chip Kelly as the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles may not be good news for fantasy owners who were planning on keeping quarterback Nick Foles on their dynasty rosters.Fantasy Spin:Foles had a nice season as the replacement for injured Michael Vick, but at 6'5" and 245 lbs he is not the type of quarterback Kelly has utilized in his wide open Oregon offenses.
Adam Caplan reports that a source has informed him that the Jets are expected to hire former Eagle Marty Mornhinweg to run their offense.
This would be a pretty interesting hire given that Mornhinweg’s name hasn’t come up in recent weeks a potential option. He would bring a different offensive philosophy to what has been a run-first team in the last few years.
This could fuel...

Where to begin? So much to dig into here, and so few electrons to spend on it. List time!
> Mike Vick will restructure or leave. But the first option is now actually possible.
There is no scheme that can make Vick less injury-prone or get him back to the pre-age 30 wheels that would have made him downright fascinating in this offense. It's also an...
