ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on NFL Live that the Buccaneers will take anything for quarterback Josh Freeman. “They would probably take anything for him at this point,” Mortensen stated. In addition to poor performance, Freeman carries a fully guaranteed $8.43 million base salary that any team would have to take on if they acquired him via trade. That’s barring an in-season restructure/extension, which would seem awfully unlikely. This year’s NFL trade deadline is October 29. I don’t believe anyone will make a trade for Freeman. He’s owed over $6 million for the rest of this season. We already know that the Browns and Jaguars aren’t interested in Freeman. Need NFL Tickets? Loading... Josh Freeman: Getting traded is the best option for me (Video)

Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman sat down with ESPN last night and stated that him being traded would be the best option right now. “I think that moving forward….that might be…that is going to be the best option,” said Freeman. Freeman is right.  The best move would be for the Bucs to trade him.  The only problem is that h’e still owed over $6 million for this season...

Josh Freeman may be inactive; Bucs' top WRs questionable

TAMPA, Fla. -- Could Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman be declared inactive Sunday? It seems possible. Two days after making the switch from Freeman to rookie Mike Glennon -- and naming Freeman the Bucs' No. 2 quarterback -- coach Greg Schiano was vague Friday when asked if the five-year veteran will still be the backup Sunday when the Bucs host the Arizona Cardinals...

Buccaneers Open To Trading Josh Freeman For Late Round Pick

Well that was quick. We reported this morning on the not so blockbuster benching of Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman for the rookie Mike Glennon. Rick Stroud of The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that the Freeman era is over in Tampa, and that the Bucs are definitely open to trading Freeman right now. However, the Bucs will seek to trade Freeman before the October 29 deadline...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano may need to promote Mike Glennon over Josh Freeman

Despite underperforming, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano gave embattled starting quarterback Josh Freeman a vote of confidence Monday. Sitting in the basement of the NFC South, Tampa Bay is 0-3 and much of the team’s woes revolve around Freeman’s right arm. The 25-year-old Freeman has thrown two touchdowns, against three picks, for 571 yards over three games. Of...

NFL Rumors: Would the Minnesota Vikings trade for Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have apparently seen enough of QB Josh Freeman and have made the decision to move forward without him. Freeman was benched this morning in favor of third-round rookie Mike Glennon out of North Carolina State. Glennon has been linked to Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano since he was recruited out of high school. Schiano lobbied for Glennon to attend Rutgers...

Benching Josh Freeman was the correct move for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made the move this morning to bench veteran QB Josh Freeman. While many Buccaneers fans bristle at this move, it was the correct move for the Buccaneers at this point in the season. Freeman has 60 career starts and 19 of those have come under the current coaching staff. In his last six games, Freeman has thrown just four touchdowns and 12 interceptions. The...

Report: Buccaneers Open To Trading QB Josh Freeman

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Buccaneers are reportedly open to trading QB Josh Freeman now that he has been benched in favor of rookie Mike Glennon. Rapoport adds that although Freeman is available, Tampa Bay has no intention of giving their quarterback away. Mike Florio notes that trade talks are likely to be impacted by Freeman’s remaining salary of...

Another Josh Freeman apolgist appears in the media

Although this drama is not playing out in New York or another major media market city, the move to bench Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman continues to draw criticism by some. This morning, former Buccaneers QB, and now NBC Sports employee Shaun King made his rounds around various media outlets to try to discredit the current Buccaneers front office and coaching staff. King made...

Josh Freeman Appears on Ticket for Sunday’s Buccaneers Game in Discontinued Uniform (Photo)

The Buccaneers can’t seem to do anything right this season. As most NFL fans know, Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman was benched this week in favor of rookie Mike Glennon. Unfortunately for the Bucs, tickets for this Sunday’s game against Arizona were printed long before the benching, and they feature — you guessed it — Freeman, who will likely spend his Sunday scowling...

Photo: Josh Freeman still featured on Tampa Bay tickets despite being benched

Josh Freeman was benched by Tampa Bay coach Greg Schiano in favor of Mike Glennon, but the Buccaneers still featured him on their tickets.

Josh Freeman Walks the Plank

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to go in a different direction at QB Week 4, benching Josh Freeman and starting rookie Mike Glennon.  This is huge news for Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, and even Doug Martin owners!  Freeman burst onto the season in 2010 with 25 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions.  Since then he has thrown 42 interceptions, and just 45 touchdowns while...

Bucs Sack Their Own QB

After an 0-3 start to the season the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have benched quarterback Josh Freeman. Rookie Mike Glennon will start for Tampa this Sunday when they host the Arizona Cardinals. Freeman has been abysmal so far this season.  He has completed just 45.7% of his passes through three games. That kind of  completion percentage won’t cut it at any level of football. Tampa’s...

Freeman benched, Glennon named Buccaneers starter

getty The Josh Freeman era in Tampa Bay is over. After a series of stories which brought the 25-year-old’s ability to lead into question he failed to produce on the field. In turn Tampa Bay has named Mike Glennon as the starting quarterback going forward. Glennon, a third-round pick, should be the Buccaneers starter for the rest of the season barring an injury. During the preseason...

Buccaneers Bench QB Josh Freeman In Favor Of Rookie Mike Glennon

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided to bench QB Josh Freeman in favor of the third-round pick QB Mike Glennon. HC Greg Schiano publicly supported Freeman as their starting quarterback as recently as last week, but clearly the speculation that the team was prepared to make a change at quarterback was spot on. Freeman has put together a lackluster season...

Carson Palmer: Buccaneers were contacting my agent all offseason

The more we hear, the more it sounds like Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano never planned to stick with Josh Freeman as his quarterback of the future. On Wednesday, Schiano announced that Freeman will be benched this weekend against the Arizona Cardinals in favor of rookie Mike Glennon. If you believe Carson Palmer, […]
