Tim Tebow has thrived throughout his football career despite very few people having confidence in him, but it seems as though the odds are stacked against him today more than they have ever been. After a wasted season with the New York Jets, it remains to be seen if there is an NFL team out there willing to give the former Florida star a chance to play.

Denver Broncos vice president of football operations John Elway always has good things to say about Tebow. However, he traded him for a reason. Most people feel as though Tebow is not an NFL starting quarterback. Elway told the “Boomer and Carton” show on Thursday that Tebow would need a unique situation to become a full-time starter again.

“In the right situation, I think it’s a possibility,” Elway said. “He’s got to be in the right situation. … He’s a good kid and he works his tail off.”

In other words, he just doesn’t have the skill set. Another NFL quarterback legend recentlyexpressed a similar opinion about Tebow, saying that it will be difficult for him to ever be a starting quarterback in the NFL again. Tebow supporters will point to the fact that Tebow won more playoff games in his first season as Denver’s starting quarterback than Peyton Manning did, but you would have to be incredibly naive to argue that Tebow is a better quarterback than Manning.

As we said before, Tebow’s only hope is that a team like the Jacksonville Jaguars gives him a shot because of his marketability. What he did with the Broncos a season ago was impressive, but it’s important to remember that the team made the playoffs with an 8-8 record. Had they missed the postseason (which most 8-8 teams do), there would be even fewer people who feel Tebow is a viable NFL starting quarterback.

  • I really hope someone gives Tim Tebow a chance. I don't know as much as many, but has there ever been a Heisman Trophy winner that was never given at least a chance in the NFL?

I know everyone thinks he's awful, and maybe he is, but after all of his success in college don't you guys think he's earned at least a shot to prove everyone wrong or right?
  • Whoa Ho Ho Pilgrim!
  • elways jealouse tebow won a playoff game with the broncos and manning didnt. remember, elway couldnt win a superbowl until davis came along, and he was "gifted" the mvp (look at his stats 4 that superbowl"
  • As long as a team has the money to buy the players to build around Tebow they will be more competitive than without him. A team needs to hire the right offensive coordinator and quarterback coach specifically for Tebow's abilities. If this is done the team will not be a laughing stock of the NFL and will be a playoff contender. Will they be a superbowl team...probably not but you never know. Take the chance on his atletic ability, train him and go for it!
  • Most any team that had a chance to get Manning would go for it, because he is a great player and he did well in Denver, but there was no majic, and he was predictable to watch. Tebow on the other hand just made things happen out of no where and it was exciting to watch and that is the reason for how populer he is. If given a chance to run plays that fit his skills, run and then throw he will do well. He will never be a true drop back passer. manning and even Brady are not much fun to watch. The Jags should take Tebow on a chance if nothing but to put them back on the map. Who knows he might get a shot. Just saying

John Elway On Tim Tebow: He Would Need The Right Situation To Play In NFL

John Elway always made good choices as a quarterback and he’s made even better ones as an executive.  When Elway had to the chance to upgrade his quarterback situation by signing Peyton Manning, he didn’t think twice about it. Call Me Maybe – Tebow Version

I might as well start by saying….”this is pathetic”. When are people going to get it through their heads that New York Jet’s “3rd string” quarterback Tim Tebow is not an NFL quarterback. The Jets Are Interested In The Honey Badger

“I haven’t scripted any answers to any questions. This is the real Tyrann right now.” The New York Post neglected to add, “…as he hit the jumbo slow so it sizzled.
