If the Harbaugh brothers weren’t such fierce competitors, they would not have been coaching against one another last Sunday. It has been nearly five full days since the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, but fierce competitors hate losing. That would explain why Jim Harbaugh has still yet to speak to John Harbaugh.

During an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Thursday night, John Harbaugh was asked if he had been in contact with his brother since beating him last Sunday.

“I have not,” Harbaugh said with a smile. “We have not had a conversation since. We will. Soon.”

He’s not joking. Anyone who has watched Jim Harbaugh coach should not be surprised. People who throw fits like this don’t enjoy losing, and they probably have no interest in hearing “you’ll get ‘em next time” from their older brother.

“When will you talk to your brother?” Letterman asked later in the interview.

“I’m hoping sometime, you know, soon,” Harbaugh replied. “We actually have meetings coming up, we have a combine in two weeks. Anybody who has a brother knows that you don’t console your brother. It doesn’t work.”

If John avoids a punch in the face from Jim the first time they see each other face-to-face, he’ll probably consider it a another victory.

  • he does not want to talk to you,r bum ass any way
  • wow! u sound like an idiot.
  • I hope you're not talking about me a$$hole, because you don't know why. Things happen and he made his choice and he was wrong just like your dumb a$$ comment. Sooooooooooooooo Phuck You. Where's Waldo, dumb phuck.
  • They are too busy making bank deposits to speak to each other. The "momma loves you best" communications will follow shortly. Good job John!
  • I am not surprised that the brothers have not spoken as yet. That is how Jim is... simple. At least John is being respectable. I would give him times as well. Jim will be even more competitive in 2013. It is hard to get back to the SB and both brothers will learn that. Lewis leaving tookthe heart out of the Ravens. Boldin may get cut... big changes. The real challenge is can Flacco be a good leader (without tackling Ginn from the side lines??)
  • i think the word you're looking for is "respectful"...not "respectable"...if they weren't "respectable," they wouldn't be coaches in the NFL...
  • I haven't talked to my brother in 8 to 10 years. Long story to go into but I really don't give a sh!t. Life is what it is. I live alot better for it. Haven't lost any sleep over it either.
  • Jim Harbaugh has little class. Unlike his brother, he is volatile, child like and is probably a sore loser. His luck ran out and it will be interesting to see what 2013/2014 will bring to the 49ers. Harbaugh is no Walsh, and Kapernick is no Montana.
  • typical brotherly love
  • Really??? Another story that's really a non-story. If you'd watch interviews with these two, you would know they've always been like this. They only talk every now and then throughout the season. They have so much going on. Meetings, interviews, etc. Stop making such a big deal out of it. If you'd watch these two together, you would see the closeness they have. They're not the type to let this come between them. They'll talk. Stop blowing things out of proportion.
  • If Jim has no class why did he tell his brother he was proud of him after the game on the field.
  • Thats the way its supposed to be. Little brothers don't beat up on big brothers. Its only appropriate that big brother won a super bowl first.
  • Oh grow up this is Football...a Game. I lost my Sister to Breast Cancer at the age of 46, How I would love to talk and laugh with her now. Enjoy your siblings while you can. They are not always going to be around.

49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh: An Insufferable Douche Bag

When on the MTRRadio.com Super Bowl Pregame show I heard radio personality James Flippin call the 49ers coach “An Insufferable Douche Bag”.  At the time I thought it was a little harsh but not having any skin in the Super Bowl, I let it go thinking he was just over overstating his dislike a bit? A week later I realized that he was spot on. Super Bowl Winning Head Coach JOHN...

John Harbaugh tells Letterman he hasn't spoken to brother Jim since Super Bowl

John Harbaugh sat down with David Letterman on "The Late Show" last night and revealed that he hasn't spoken to his brother Jim since the post-game handshake after his Baltimore Ravens narrowly beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII Sunday night. At the traditional midfield meeting, the winning coach lightheartedly admitted to Letterman that he told his steamed...

Jim Harbaugh: A Penalty is a Penalty on the first play or the last play

There has been wide debate over the last play of the Super Bowl, in which it appeared Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was holding 49ers receiver Michael Crabtree. There was no penalty called on the play, and many are left wondering what might have been if there was. 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh was adamant that there was holding on the play, and he recently elaborated on how...

Jim Harbawawawa Still Crying

As a coach, I like Jim Harbaugh. He did a great job at Stanford and he's done a great job since being hired by the San Francisco 49ers. But let's face it...he's a cry baby. We've seen his antics on the sidelines and now he's continuing to complain about the "no call" the 49ers received, or didn't receive, in the red zone at the end of the Super Bowl...

49ers Coach Jim Harbaugh Says A 'Penalty Is A Penalty No Matter When It Occurs'

Given his inability to keep a straight face, Jim Harbaugh must be a horrible poker player. So it was hardly surprising when the 49ers coach told the media shortly after the Ravens' 34-31 Super Bowl win that he thought the officials missed a pass interference call on wide receiver Michael Crabtree that would've given the 49ers a first-and-goal with 1:50 to go in the game....
