Matthew Stafford’s girlfriend Kelly Hall spent some time in Costa Rica this week while the Detroit Lions quarterback continues to prepare for the 2013 season. Fortunately for all of us, she made just enough of her vacation public to keep us entertained.
My favorite moment that Hall captured in Costa Rica was a toss-up between the dancing video you see above and a picture of a pretty waterfall, but I decided to go with the pool dancing — or “drunk modeling” as she referred to it in her description. There was just no way I could pass up her variation of the “cat daddy” dance and the Ace of Base blaring in the background.
And that’s not all. A certain someone even chimed in in the comments section. No, it wasn’t Stafford:
That’s right, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper took some time out of his busy schedule — which includes repairing his image in the wake of this incredibly racist outburst — to enjoy Hall’s video just as much as we did.
PS: How lucky is Stafford? His play on the field this year had better reflect how fantastic his personal life seems to be.
Less than a year ago, Harvard Rugland was a Norwegian YouTube sensation. He showed to the world his uncanny accuracy as a kicker. He was so good, that even NFL QBs couldn’t duplicate his crazy placement while throwing the ball, instead. The fame he received from it earned him a contract and training camp invite from the Detroit Lions. But, like 40 other players attempting to make...
The rout was on early for the Detroit Lions against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night’s preseason finale. Even though the Lions offense put up 35-points, it was mostly the second and third team offenses that found the end zone, leaving lingering questions about Matthew Stafford’s ability to lead this team.

Detroit Lions quarterback Mathew Stafford is doing alright. The man recently signed a nice contract extension. He has one of the best wide receivers in the game to throw to. He might actually have a running game for a change in Reggie Bush.
And than there is his girlfriend--the lovely Kimberly Hall.
Lucky for us she is pretty photogenic and likes to share her pictures...

The Detroit Lions rebounded from deplorable week in Cleveland to a dynamic one against a red-hot New England Patriots team. Again, this is the preseason so let’s stay grounded in this week’s “Takeaways”.

Receiver Calvin Johnson, hampered by a bruised knee, will miss his third straight exhibition game Thursday night when the Detroit Lions play their preseason finale in Buffalo.

Detroit Lions – Yep, I’m calling it. I think this is the year it all comes together for these guys. The rest of the division is banged up or going through serious changes and the Lions are the only team that I truly feel got better...

Eleven days until the Detroit Lions open the regular season at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
But first, one final exhibition - Thursday night at Buffalo.
Here are five storylines to follow:

Several starters who have been missing practice time...
The preseason is over. Now, a couple days of anxiety as the players fighting for one of the final spots on the team wait to see which 22 get released and exactly who makes the 53-man roster heading into the opening week of the regular season.
The Detroit Lions, like all NFL teams, must make their final cuts by 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The Lions finished the preseason with a 3-1 record...
Bummer. Remember Norwegian Kicker and YouTube sensation Harvard Rugland? OK, I don't recall the name either, but I do remember his YouTube video, Kickalicious making the rounds last winter:
I'm pretty sure that's the Dropkick Murphys playing in the background (nice "kick" choice, Harvard).
Well, unfortunately, the Detroit Lions cut Rugland on Tuesday...
