PLAYERS: Ndamukong Suh
TEAMS: Detroit Lions

Via The Other Paper:

If you ask Detroit Lions players what they think is funny — 300-pound comedian Louie Anderson in a Speedo, belly-flopping into a pool might pop into their minds. The thought of their own 6'4", 307-pound defensive end, Ndamukong Suh, leaping off a high dive ... not so much.

Suh should never have signed up to compete on "Celebrity Diving", this according to several of Suh's Lions teammates, who told TMZ the decision is shockingly irresponsible.

Suh — who's in the middle of a 5-year, $68 million contract with the Lions — recently joined the cast of the ABC reality show.  Suh, who will be joining other celebrities like Anderson, Katherine Webb (Uh, she's everywhere) and former NBA great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in launching their bodies off a diving platform.

TMZ spoke with several of Suh's teammates who all feel that he's making huge mistake.

"One source told the gossip site, 'We need him on the field and if he gets hurt during the offseason doing wild stunts ... it would be bad and it ain't worth it. He's too valuable to the team.' "

5 Comments:
  • Maybe he can kick someone in the nut sac or stomp on an arm while diving. Could be entertaining.
  • "I'm Dumb Again" Suh! One of the lowest self esteemed athletes in the NFL. I hope this guy can eventually pull it together.

The 2012 season is over for the Detroit Lions, and now we look onto the potential 2013 Detroit Lions roster changes. Titus Young talking his way out of the NFL

Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young‘s future with his team remains murky at best. If Young is released from the Lions, he could have a hard time finding a job with another team if he keeps talking. Titus Young: Give me the ball or I quit

Nobody is going to mistake Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young for former NFL wideout Keyshawn Johnson. But we all remember when Keyshawn wrote his famous book “Just Give Me the Damn Ball.” It was a book chronicling his rookie season with the Jets. While everyone rolled their eyes at his arrogance, there wasn’t any reason to actually doubt his talent, as he was easily the...

Roof of Pontiac Silverdome, Detroit Lions’ Former Home, Ripped Apart by Winds

We’ve seen some pretty radical proposed renovation plans for the Pontiac Silverdome — including one in 2011 that, in hopes of helping Detroit land an MLS franchise, called for a bi-level redevelopment that included a soccer field, concert hall and multi-purpose sports facility. There has been no movement on any of the ideas, however, since Toronto developer Andreas Apostolopoulos...

Titus Young doesn’t want to play anymore if he’s not going to get the ball

Titus Young Doesn’t Want To Play Anymore If He’s Not Going To Get The Ball

I’m truly not sure what to make of these statements, and I’m not sure If I should flip out or feel sorry for Titus Young.  The Lions immature wide receiver is again making head waves, but again for the wrong reason. Young has already been suspended by the team for fighting, and disciplined for reportedly trying to sabotage the passing game. Young according to Larry Brown Sports...

Looking Forward: Lions Quarterbacks

Titus Young’s Adamant He’s ‘Not Selfish,’ But Threatens to Retire If He Doesn’t Get Ball More

Titus Young looks to have a bright future ahead of him in the NFL that is if he decides to continue playing football. While Grousbeck said some positive things -- calling Rondo...

Bill Simmons dares ESPN to punish him for ripping Goodell?

ESPN’s Bill Simmons sometimes goes off the rails in very un-ESPN-like fashion. As a result, he’s part of a small group of key faces at the Worldwide Leader who are sometimes penalized by their employer for going too far. It’s debatable whether Simmons went too far with his latest diatribe against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday, but it does appear as though — in...
