One year ago, Steve Weatherford caused a litlte bit of a stir when he tweeted out a video of New York Giants teammate Prince Amukamura being thrown into an ice cold bath with all his clothes on by Jason Pierre-Paul. Joseph Brennan was a lifelong Giants fan and it was the punter that gave him his last great memory of the team. Not everyone gets the chance to obtain an autograph of a player from their favorite team, and even when it is just the punter, it’s a special moment. Brennan was suffering from cancer at the age of 79, and the few minutes that Weatherford spent signing his Giants hat was one of his favorite final moments. Weatherford signed Brennan’s favorite Giants hat, and according to his daughter, it brought immense joy [...]

  • Steve is a great guy and a class act. My daughter made him a bracelet before the super bowl last year and he promised he would wear it in the game (along with Lawrence tynes). They did wear them as promised and she was over the moon. She has his autographed picture in her room. She got sick this year and its been rough for her the past 6 months, but every time she sees him on tv or looks at that picture she smiles and is reminded how there are still some great people in this world.

It just remains to be seen whether that market includes much more than a pair of old jockstraps and some other dirty laundry.
