Fox Sports Southwest:
IRVING According to Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, the odds of DeMarco Murray playing Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles are "better than they've been."
The Cowboys' second-year running back has missed the last six games with a sprained left foot that he suffered during an Oct. 14 loss in Baltimore.
"I think he's got a real shot to play this Sunday and we'll certainly keep our fingers crossed," Jones said Wednesday on 105.3 The Fan KRLD-FM.
During his Wednesday morning press conference, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said he anticipated Murray being able to participate in more football activities during Wednesday's practice. Murray had been limited in practice to threshold tests on his injured foot.
"We anticipate him taking another step today," Garrett said. "We'll evaluate what that step is. He'll do more football today than he's done up to this point. We'll see how he responds to that work."
Murray was wearing his helmet and pads during the media portion of Wednesday's practice. In five games this year, Murray has carried 75 times for 330 yards and a touchdown.
