With the NFL 2012-2013 season in full swing and playoff berth opportunities closing, now is the perfect time to brush up your fantasy football roster. Some smart moves and careful trades could mean the difference between your bragging rights at dinner and hanging your head in shame while you buy your buddies a round of drinks. Personally, I would rather be laughing when my friend pulls out his wallet to bring a frosty bucket back to the table than dragging my feet while someone else has the fun. After Week 11’s games, here are some players to keep an eye on. Quarterbacks For a while, fresh quarterbacks like Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III have set fantasy leagues on fire. However, week 11 proved that veteran experience will still post consistent stats to get fantasy players excited. Those who were wise to Houston’s magic this season should be doing a victory jig across their opponents' Facebook pages -- Matt Schaub threw for a staggering 527 yards in the Texans’ 43-37 win over Jacksonville. While stats like that may not be seen for a while from Schaub, he is definitely a quarterback to hang onto or one to consider scooping up if a trade doesn’t break the rest of your team.  Keep an eye on the rest of RG3’s season too. He looked immaculate in the Chiefs’ utter trouncing of the Eagles, throwing massive 60-yard passes and four TD passes in a 31-6 victory. Griffin has great pocket sense and can dodge blitzers like he’s about to step out of his cleats. He obviously put in a lot of work in preparation for his NFL debut and wore out his running shoes. He could be a great choice for future seasons or someone to scoop up now if your current QB is struggling. Kickers While slotting a Kicker may not seem like a position you should be focused on, I’m constantly aware of how important their performance is. A few fantasy points can decide whether you have to endure an avalanche of “your kicker” jokes over wings after work or if you get to make them yourself. While the Falcons’ Matt Bryant has had a great season so far, going 25 for 28 with a best of 55 yards, you’d be smarter to pick up Cleveland’s Phil Dawson. While he doesn’t see as many field goal attempts, due to his team’s struggles on offense, Dawson is currently 19 for 19 this season with a best of 52 yards. His consistency and experience of 14 seasons in the NFL give him a slight edge over Bryant and should carry through the rest of the season. The only drawback is whether the Browns will be able to get him more opportunities on the field, a very real risk that makes his consistency a gutsy choice. Don’t overthink or stress out over trades and decisions. I love bragging rights and busting my friends’ chops as much as the next guy, but some nuanced trades are a good way to hang out with my buds, watch the game and have a good time.  Read up on remaining match-ups this season, check injury reports and statistics, trust your instincts and have fun.
