Understandably, most of the attention in Super Bowl week went to how the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles could win the game. With all of that buzz, one story about Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh flew under the radar, but it’s something worth noting.

Alex Lee, who played high school football under Doug Pederson and worked with the Eagles during the preseason, relayed a message that Suh had passed on to Philadelphia defensive line coach Chris Wilson when the Eagles and Dolphins scrimmaged each other.

“Suh told our defensive line coach, ‘The way y’all practice is unbelievable. I don’t care about money at this point—I think I want to play with y’all next year for free,’” Lee said, per Robert Klemko of SI.com. “Our coach was like, ‘Uhh, can we get that in writing?’”

Two things are worth noting.

One, as Klemko noted, Suh has denied making the comments.

Two, even if Suh was serious, he is under contract through at least 2019 in Miami. So, the Dolphins would have to either trade or release him for the champs to bring Suh aboard.

Nevertheless, the Eagles clearly impressed the five-time Pro Bowler even before their championship season began.
