Jared Wickerham/Getty Images After being held out of team practices last week and not playing in the team’s 40-9 loss to the Detroit Lions on Thursday, New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola was back at practice Monday. Suffering the injury during New England’s 25-21 preseason win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on August 16, the injury (which is still unknown) was never considered serious enough for him to miss the season opener on September 8 against the Buffalo Bills. While reporters were present at practice, Amendola looked to be participating fully with no restrictions. "I felt good today," he said after practice. "Everybody was flying around, everybody looked good. Coming off a couple days off, we were ready to get back at it. So it was a good day." He was not concerned about missing practices last week saying, “I'm not concerned. We've had a lot of good reps this camp so far and we're going to continue to work and continue to get ...

Kraft rooting for Tim Tebow 'big-time'

New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft won't be the one making a personnel decision on whether to keep polarizing quarterback Tim Tebow, but he's sure rooting for him to make the roster.

Tim Tebow gets vote of confidence from Robert Kraft

What would happen if Tim Tebow didn’t make the Patriots roster? I can tell you, ESPN would blow up and it would be Tebow Time again, until he lands on a roster or retires. Well today Tebow was given a vote of confidence, not from his coach but the Patriots owner Robert Kraft. “I’m rooting […]

Danny Amendola used to Wes Welker comparisons

This being the Patriots any talk about comparing new receiver Danny Amendola to the guy he replaced Wes Welker is squashed immediately. “That’s not something I need to worry about” Amendola said this spring. “I’m worried about the playbook and getting the routes down and getting on the same page with my teammates.” But it’s an obvious comparison given that Amendola...

Rolling Stone Teases Upcoming Aaron Hernandez Feature: Angel Dust! Gangsters! Cover-ups!

Tuesday afternoon, Rolling Stone announced a lengthy feature on Aaron Hernandez set to run in its next issue. To prepare us all, the editors were nice enough to drop some teasers for the piece, titled “The Gangster in the Huddle”: Hernandez was a heavy user of angel dust, and had become so paranoid over the last year that he carried a gun wherever he went. He surrounded himself...

Marcus Benard Enjoys Taking on ‘Small Man Complex’ in New Role as Interior Pass Rusher

FOXBORO, Mass. — It didn’t take long for Marcus Benard to rise up the depth chart with the Patriots. The fifth-year defender stood out in one-on-one drills as soon as the pads were strapped on when training camp started. He would fly past his opposing offensive lineman with a quick step and violent rip move. Patriots coaches quickly took notice and started putting him in with...

Robert Kraft Says He’s ‘Rooting For’ Tim Tebow to Make Patriots Roster But Leaving Decision in Bill Belichick’s Hands

Robert Kraft has learned not to meddle when it comes to roster decisions. But that doesn’t mean he won’t be lobbying Bill Belichick if there’s a player or two he’d like to see make the cut, such as a certain Tim Tebow. Tebow’s time as a Patriot may be close to ending as New England trims its roster down to its final 53 players. While some people think Tebow has a future...

Patriots Owner is Rooting For Tim Tebow to Make the Team

It is like Tebow has some sort of cult like hold over Robert Kraft. “I’m rooting for him big time,” Kraft told reporters prior to the Patriots’ annual kickoff gala. “I’m in his corner, but I have the privilege of letting Bill make those decisions. He has a pretty good record doing it.”

FOXBORO, Mass. — Dont’a Hightower was already one of the most versatile players on the Patriots’ defense last season. This year, with added responsibility and a better understanding of the playbook, the second-year player is giving the New England defense even more flexibility. Hightower has lined up at strong-side linebacker and middle linebacker in the 4-3. He’s also played...

Tom Brady spoke to Michigan's football team before getting drubbed by Lions

Tom Brady was in Michigan last Thursday, where his New England Patriots were going to take on the Detroit Lions in Week 3 of the 2013 preseason. Naturally, Brady made the trek over to Ann Arbor to see his old stomping grounds at The Big House -- he put on his old uni, probably hit on some freshmen, and generally had a nostalgic experience.  Michigan kicks off it's highly...

Rolling Stone has Themselves an Intriguing Report on Aaron Hernandez

Looks like the folks at Rolling Stone are ready to stir the pot a bit when it comes to the Aaron Hernandez story. While the story has yet to be released they have teased some talking points behind the story. Rolling Stone says Urban Meyer may have covered up Aaron Hernandez crimes

Urban Meyer may be the most polarizing college football coach in America. Winning national titles will do that to you. Winning while having a boatload of your players getting arrested (25 at Florida, 8 at Ohio State thus far) (here’s the complete list) will do that to you even faster. Urban Meyer certainly has his detractors. But he has his vocal supporters too. Given what we heard...
