The great thing about the NFL is that there are so many positions that every year, there is almost always at least one player who has a breakout year on every team, no matter how good or bad the team is. This is one part in a 32 day segment detailing one potential breakout player for the 2012 NFL Season on each NFL team. For the New England Patriots, that player is defensive end Trevor Scott. Trevor Scott was a 6th round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2008 and immediately was able to make an impact as a situational pass rusher. Over 4 years with the team, Scott had 13 sacks, 8 quarterback hits, and 43 pressures on 837 pass rushes. Scott signed a 1.15 million dollar deal with the New England Patriots this offseason for 1 season and has already been called someone who can have a “big impact” by Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe. Last offseason, the Patriots signed two pass rushers, Andre Carter and Mark Anderson, in under the radar signings, but the duo combined for 20 sacks last season...
