Sammy Morris and the New England Patriots have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract.
ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss was one of the reporters that broke the story and had some nice quotes from Morris’ agent Mark Slough.
“Sammy has such respect for Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft and that organization, he’s excited to be back,” Slough said. “He’s enjoyed his time there over the last four years, he likes being part of the community, his kids are in school, and that is where he wanted to be.”
Keep in mind that New England’s backfield is certainly crowded, with rookies Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley joining the duo of BenJarvus Green-Ellis—Morris may not have a guaranteed spot with Ridley as a potential replacement.
