The New Orleans Saints are reported to have added LB Curtis Lofton to the team this evening. Lofton, a free agent coming from divisional opponent, Atlanta Falcons, is reported to come with some limitations in his game. However, he is considered to be a very solid middle 4-3 linebacker.
Lofton had visited the New Orleans Saints last week and was considered to be a player asking too much money in free agency for his limited services. The NFL put the hammer down on the New Orleans Saints last week in regards to the “Bounty Gate” scandal and MLB Jonathan Vilma might find himself suspended for many, if not all of the regular season games in 2012.
Lofton, once considered on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers radar, now joins a team in complete turmoil. Despite his reported limitations in his game, Lofton has never missed a regular season game in his career and has logged over 90 tackles in each of his first four seasons.
