"Get the BLEEP off my field!!!" Those words were uttered by QB Matt Ryan in an earlier Atlanta Falcons win this season over the Carolina Panthers in the Georgia Dome.  "Matty Ice" would have been well within his rights to utter that same statement again Sunday afternoon after the 34-0 beat-down they handed Eli Manning and the New York Giants. The Giants now find themselves fighting for there playoff lives while the Falcons have dead aim at homefield throughout the playoffs. These are the things we can take away from this matchup.1. The Falcons Are Capable of Playing a Thorough and Complete Game This game started off with the Atlanta Defense setting the tone with an interception of Eli Manning 52 seconds into the game. Afterward,  the Falcons Michael Turner punched the ball in for a touchdown. Following that turnover , ATL simply was not going to let off the gas pedal. Matt Ryan threw the ball effectively and their running game was enough to keep the Giants defense off balance. Atlanta's defense proved disruptive. They effected the timing of the New York Giants passing attack and caused a fumble to go along with the earlier interception in the opening minute of the game. This was a solid performance on both sides of the ball for the Falcons!!! 2. We Should Not Forget About Matt Ryan In The MVP Race 23 of 28 , 82.1 %, 270 YDS , 3 TDS, 0 INT , 142.6 QBR!! That was the stat line for Matt Ryan today. Lets' face it, he is the key to their offensive attack. When he's on his game this offense can score against anyone. The Falcons have the best record in the NFC and yet Matt Ryan seems to be a forgotten man in the MVP race. He is over 4000 YDS passing and has 27 TDs to go along with it. He is definitely valuable to the success of the Falcons, who I will say once again has the best record in the NFC!!!!3. The Giants Pass Rush Looked Tired Osi Umenyiora, Jason Pierre-Paul , Mathias Kiwanuka , and Justin Tuck were held in check by the Atlanta Falcons offensive line. If this persists it will be a huge problem for the Giants going forward.  If the Giants do not generate any kind of pass rush, their secondary will get torn apart. The Giants defensive front simply looked tired. This issue definitely has to be addressed, or the defending Super Bowl Champs may be scheduling tee times at the country club, instead of chasing their chance at becoming a dynasty!!4. Tom Coughlin Needs To Light a Fire Under His TeamYou would have thought that with the NFC East Division tightening up, and their playoff lives being put into possible turmoil, the Giants would have shown up. They came to " Hotlanta " and caught a major league beatdown. What is worse,  the G-Men did not even look like they had any sense of urgency. You have to give the Falcons credit for being the hungrier team but, at the same time, where were the Giants? Coach Tom Coughlin needs to get his team's attention before next week and tell them to get it in gear. They have two games left. It will not get any easier for the Giants. Next week they play the Baltimore Ravens who are having similar spark issues. Snap your team out of it Coach Coughlin! 5. Mike Smith for Coach Of The Year Atlanta Falcons Coach Mike Smith has pushed the right buttons at the right time all season. This is a game that the Falcons would normally lose. In the past they would get out to early leads then give them back to their opponents. As you watched this game you kept on waiting for Eli Manning and the Giants to make their charge and it never happened. That is a testament to Mike Smith's being able to keep his team focused and ready to play a full 60 minutes of football. He knows that this team needs to get homefield and win a playoff game or this season is a waste. Coach Smith has been able to keep his team hungry all year. This is a good sign for them heading into the postseason. Mike Smith should receive Coach of the Year consideration!
